Position Overview:

 

VKIDS Vision and Department Leadership

You will be part of the Families Ministry Department and as such report to the Families Pastor.  Your role will be outworking the following, in alignment with the Families Pastor:

●      To create, build and oversee an engaging and dynamic vision and strategic plan for VKIDS that is in line with the overall vision of Vintage Church.

●      Design and oversee the VKIDS ministries across all campuses.

●      Design, build and manage VKIDS staff and volunteer teams.

●      Represent VKIDS in the development of future Vintage ministries, campuses and building expansion.

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

The specific responsibilities of this position are numerous, but the following are the main ones (but there will always be additional responsibilities not mentioned below that would be normal for a VKIDS Director role)

●      Curriculum - ensure VKIDS has a fun, engaging and ‘word and spirit’ curriculum that is effective in growing children in a deep knowledge and experience of God.

●      Volunteers - design a volunteer recruitment, training and development plan.

●      Ministry Space - create a high quality, safe and excellent VKIDS ministry environment.

●      Safety - design and oversee training and compliance with relevant and stringent health and safety guidelines.

●      Worship and Ministry - ensure a word and spirit worship component in the Sunday experience.

●      Communication - design an effective communication strategy that ensures parents, children and VKIDS staff are clear in the activities and programs.

●      FOCUS - design and lead the annual Focus plan for VKIDS.

●      Events - design and run events throughout the year that effectively create community, resource parents, disciple children and grow the ministry.

●      Big Sundays - design and outwork VKIDS special performances or participation in Big Sundays.

●      Technology - ensure VKIDS is using high quality technology for the effective and efficient running of our VKIDS ministry.

 

Other Ministry Duties [10%]

●      Assist in other ministries where available and needed.

 

Skills / Qualifications:

 

●      An appropriate educational background and leadership experience

●      Hard worker, self-starter and takes initiative

●      Belief in and ability to cultivate and lead fun, healthy high performance teams

●      Proven track record of effective leadership, judgment, and above reproach character

●      Expert level written and verbal communication skills

●      Confidential, Helpful, Cheerful, Diplomatic, and Caring Positive Attitude to ALL

●      Ability to Prioritize and Multi-Task

●      Attention to detail with commitment to excellence as a function of love and hospitality

●      Work fast to meet deadlines and achieve goals

●      Teachable and a willingness to grow

●      Adaptable to the inevitable changes found in a growing local church

●      A shepherd’s temperament; servant-leader/mentor attitude and inclination.

●      Demonstrate an ongoing relationship with Jesus Christ and is in deep agreement with the vision and values of Vintage Church

●      Must attend worship services regularly and participate as an active member of Vintage Church
